Tidewater Climate Co. is a fictional company. Ratings, the license number, the warranty, prices, and the calendar on this page are demonstration data for a design portfolio.

Services

What we do on a house.

We specify the equipment for the load and the salt, put the permit and the inspection in the scope, and come back after the truck is gone.

A condenser on a wall the salt can reach. Demonstration photograph.
  1. System design and replacement

We measure room by room, specify the coil for salt air, and write the scope down before a wall is opened. The tonnage comes from those measurements. The old unit’s nameplate is just a clue.

  2. Humidity and indoor air

On this coast the thermostat can read 74° while the house still feels wet. We design toward roughly 45–50% relative humidity. One of the demo notes below holds about 48% in August.

  3. Membership maintenance

One visit in spring and one in late summer, before the August and September storms. We rinse the coil, clear the drain, and write down the humidity. Small repairs happen while we are there.

  4. Priority service

When a member’s system stops, that house goes to the front of the board. If the same day is already full, we name the day we can actually make.

The coast

August is the test. The attic is hotter than the house.

A floor plan does not say what the west glass does at 4 p.m. On a July afternoon along this bay, the attic over the bedrooms is often past 120°. That is the weather the ducts sit in. We size for it. Demo description, same as the rest of the page.

01 — The coil

  1. The equipment

What the system has to do on this coast.

    01

    The coil

Salt air takes a builder coil apart. In the demo notes, one condenser on the beach lasted six years. We specify a coastal coil and rinse it on the membership visits.

Demonstration copy, like the rest of this page.

  2. 02

    The water

Supply grilles bead in August when a system only removes heat. We design for about 45–50% relative humidity, so the air is drying while the temperature falls.

  3. 03

    The sound

We place the pad and the line set with the bedrooms, then stand in the nearest bedroom and listen before we sign off.

  4. 04

    The room

When the tons are right, upstairs and downstairs stay within about 1–2°. That spread is the one in the comparison table.

How it works

The price is on paper before the truck unloads.

First a look at the house, then a written scope, then the install. You can stop after the notes.

  1. 01

    The assessment

About 45 minutes in the house. We look at the load, the ducts, the rooms that run hot, the west glass, and the salt on the outdoor unit. You leave with the notes whether or not you hire us.

  2. 02

    A written plan

Two or three ways to do the job, each one itemized, each one good for 30 days. The demo replacement range on this page is $12,400 to $24,600 before incentives. A smaller system, plus a way to pull water out of the air, shows up often.

  3. 03

    Install and aftercare

Our own crew covers the floors. The permit and the city inspection are line items in the scope. We put the first membership visit on the calendar before we leave. The person who wrote the plan answers the phone.

Setting
Current system

On a Gulf house, tons are only half the design. If it feels clammy at 74°, look at latent capacity or a dehumidifier before adding another half ton.

Cooling only. On a Gulf heat pump, heating is the smaller share of the bill, so this sketch leaves it out.

A Gulf house wants a spring visit and a late-summer visit. One tune-up is how a coil gets forgotten. Tide is the plan on most of these demo houses. Prices below are demonstration figures for the portfolio.

Comparison

What changes when the house gets written down.

A swap-the-box install replaces the outdoor unit and leaves. We measure the house and write it down. Highlighted rows are the arguments. The ranges are demonstration figures.

Specification Standard install Tidewater install
Sizing The old unit’s tons, copied onto the new one A load calculated room by room, then written down

Questions

Questions we get in the driveway.

Price, the low bid, salt air, timing, and whether the visit is a pitch. If yours is missing, call (251) 555-0194.

What does a replacement actually cost?

In this demo market, a full replacement on a house like the ones we show usually lands between $12,400 and $24,600 before utility incentives. Duct repairs move that number. So does dehumidification, and so does electrical work. After the visit you get an itemized figure. These are demonstration prices.

Why shouldn’t I take the lowest bid?

The low number is often a larger machine, or a cheaper one, set on the old pad with a builder coil and no humidity plan. On a Gulf house that shows up later as a clammy upstairs and a condenser that rusts out early. We print the missing lines on the proposal and leave the other bid as it is.

Can you repair what I have instead of replacing it?

Often, yes. If the system is under about twelve years, the repair is sound, and humidity is already under control, we say repair. If salt has already eaten the coil, we say replace. You still leave with the notes. The visit is the look at the house.

How do you handle salt air?

Coastal-rated coils, rinsed at each membership visit, and the outdoor unit set where spray does not hit it. A beachfront house is specified differently from a house ten minutes inland. That difference is written in the proposal.

How soon can someone come?

On this demo calendar, visits this week are Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. Membership tune-ups: 9 of 40 November visits are still open. If the system is down, members go first. We tell you the day before we book it. Sample schedule. The board on a real shop would be different.

Is the assessment a sales pitch?

It is a 45-minute look at the house and a written set of notes. We show options if you ask. If you do not ask, you still keep the notes. Under this demo policy there is no trip charge.

Do you finance?

Illustrative financing on this page starts around $189 a month. Some manufacturers advertise 0% for 18 months on qualifying equipment. That example is not an offer of credit. A real project would go through a lender with its own terms. We do not invent a payment to win the visit.

What if it fails after you leave?

Workmanship is covered for 10 years under these demo warranty terms. That covers the way it was installed. Manufacturer parts follow the manufacturer’s own clock. If the install is ours to fix, we come back. The terms are in the proposal.

Do I need a bigger system because the upstairs is hot?

Usually, no. A hot upstairs is often a duct problem, a weak return, or humidity. A larger unit can make the humidity worse by cooling too fast and shutting off. We measure before we add capacity. In these demo notes, several houses ended up with a smaller system than they had.

Where do you actually work?

Fairhope, Daphne, Spanish Fort, and Mobile. Also Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Foley and Robertsdale are on the list too. If the house is outside that, call and ask. A longer drive makes the second visit late. Demo company, demo service area.
